1920 - 2013.

A tribute to Joe by Bob Prest.
Joe was a Sheetmetal worker and a member of the Fabrication Section in the Construction Department.
He had a gentle, sunny and kindly personality and would always go out of his way to be helpful in any way at all to both students and colleagues alike.
He was an enthusiastic organiser involved in Christmas parties for the children of staff colleagues and also Staff Christmas Dinners as well as caravan holidays in the summer break (at Fakenham for example).
At work he produced the teaching timetables for the Fabrication Section and succeeded in keeping everyone happy most of the time...no mean feat.
In his life away from work Joe was very active in the Cub-Scout movement, originally as a Cub Scout Leader from 1950 to 1964 as well as being the Assistant District Commissioner (Cub Scouts) until 1973.
He was District Commissioner from 1973 to 1985 followed by being a member of the District Executive and then District Vice President until December 2013.
Amongst many long service and good service awards, he was awarded the Silver Wolf (Scouting's highest good service award) in 2000.
Joe was a live wire and danced a quick-step at his 90th birthday party. A remarkable and a genuinely good man.
He was liked and respected by all members of the College.
